Australia has a huge selection of places to see and things to do that it is difficult to narrow it down to a few. It offers natural wonders that are not seen anywhere else in the world. Coral reefs, rainforests, wildlife, pristine beaches and ancient culture deeply connected to all of it. Australia also offers man-made wonders that are world famous and iconic of the country. The Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House are architectural wonders recognized by everyone.

Visitors should check their travel insurance and start with the Outback. It has a lot to see, but one place stands out. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed cultural landscape in the Northern Territory. Ayers Rock and Mount Olga are recognisable natural wonders that serve as the focal point for the world of Australia’s indigenous culture. Australia has won awards for their efforts to preserve the landscape and the Anangu culture. It is possible to visit without disturbing the environment and history, and it is worth the trip.

Queensland has many eco-systems including sunny tropical coastal areas with some of the best surfing in the world to luxuriant rainforests and dry areas inland. The Gondwana Rainforests of Australia are the most extensive subtropical rainforests in the world. They are on the border of Queensland and New South Wales. These rainforests contain the same kind of species that were present two million years ago when the whole world was Gondwana. The Great Barrier Reef system is also the largest in the world reaching 2,600 kilometres with over 900 islands. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, snorkelling or diving among these reefs and seeing the colours of the fish and corals and the varied undersea wildlife is an unforgettable experience.

Sydney is the most populous city in Australia. It is a vibrant city that is welcoming to visitors from all over the world. Bondi Beach and more than 40 other beaches, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Tower and its great history of cricket, football and rugby make it truly an international city. A harbour tour on a jet boat is better than any theme park ride and gives visitors a view of the whole area. The nightlife rocks all night long, and with the high quality music and theatre tradition, Sydney is the place to be in Australia.
